Hi, I am Dave Cowles, Cartoonist at Large™.

I have been doodling and drawing cartoons and caricatures since longer than I can remember. It has gotten me into more trouble than it has gotten me out of! I was also a professional tattoo artist and body piercer off and on over the years,  the staff cartoonist for a newspaper and a magazine in the Chicago area, and  the cartoonist for the Piedmont Area Mensa group. I do a lot of caricatures, logos, ads, t-shirts, flyers, greeting card and business card designs, portraits, and other custom work.

I have been designing web sites since 1994. Back then you had to learn HTML (Hyper Text Mark-up Language) and do a lot of creative borrowing! The tools have come a long way, but so have customers' expectations. I try to find not just what is current or flashy, but what is useful  to you the customer!
I specialize in what I like to call on-line, point-of-contact business cards.
A place on-line to make your presence known and to pass on basic information.

I am married to the lovely Marecho and the father of one precious young lady, Raeny, who is my heart.
We share our home in Upstate, South Carolina with two dogs;
Fat Dazey; a terrier-mix and Crazyhead Murphy, a Doodleman (Pinscher).

I am an avid reader, enjoy writing, movies, collecting knives, the NCN Forum, and playing volleyball.
I like acting, photography, and doing research in the time I have left over.

Additionally, I am an ex-cop, sailor, and soldier. I am also an ordained minister. I have lived in Michigan, Illinois, Oklahoma, California, Tennessee, Washington State, Arkansas, Virginia, South Carolina, and Venezuela.
