GRUMPY THE EUNUCH
We got Grumpy from
a couple at the Dallas, North Carolina Flea Market a week before Christmas,
2006.
He is a dark chocolate brindle American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT). I was told his
lineage is Jeep, Redboy, and Jocko,
but with no papers available due to a supposed fire, he could be a toy poodle!
He is a bright and
handsome boy with a huge heart and a willingness to play anytime, anywhere, with
anyone.
He doesn't have a vicious bone in his body and is a great example of what
wonderful companions this fine breed can make.
Grumpy was placed
for about four months with what I thought was a dog lover. I was wrong!
He was picked up by the Humane Society and they called me due to his microchip.
He was underweight,
timid, flea bitten, scarred, and had a broken leg! We don't know what he went
through during our
separation, but he returned to the fold and became an active part of the family again.
When you adopt a
pet they become your responsibility: family for life. Sometimes things don't
work out
and despite your best effort, you have to part ways. When this happens, you have
a
responsibility to the pet, unless they are outright dangerous, to place them
where it is better
for them too!
I am glad Grumpy made it back. We helped him heal. We love him and wanted to
do our best to find him
someone to love who has the time and energy required that this great dog
deserved.
We were looking for an experienced owner who
preferably had experience with Pit Bulls and
a fenced yard, but he had to remain a house dog, not a yard dog or kennel dog.
I was fortunate enough to be able to get in touch
with Nicole from
Brandon Bond's All
or Nothing Pit Bull Rescue,
and she got me in touch with a fine young
man, named Jamie, living in
Marion, South Carolina.
Jamie, his son, Xakary, Grumpy, Marecho,
and I got together in Columbia on May 29th, and the rest is history!
Grumpy has a great new home and an even bigger family and we are all thrilled.
We will always miss Grumpy, but we know he has an awesome new home!
Thanks, Jamie, Nicole and Brandon!
We were pleased to be able to make a donation to
All or Nothing Pit Bull Rescue.
